Pichu, the tiny mouse

Pichu is generally considered to be above the rodent status, even though it is a mouse. This is due to its huge popularity of its adolescent form, Pikachu, throughout the regions. It only has a small coating of fur which does not help hold its abundant of static electricity very well, generally shocking its owner with small zaps. It has even be hypothesized that Pichu manage to shock themselves due to their low ability to store electricity in their under developed cheek pouches, which would explain their skittish nature. Pichu are a highly affectionate pokemon though, needing constant adoration and care if they are under the care of a human. In nature, they will live close by there matured form, Raichu, in which they receive the care they need to grow.
